How does an eye test work?
We are happy to tell you how an eye test at Oogwereld works. Do you feel like your vision has deteriorated? Then make an appointment for an eye test at one of our stores near you.
1. Inquiring about complaints
Do you suffer from reduced vision, eye complaints or a medical condition? It is important for our specialists to have a complete picture of the health of your eyes, so that they can recommend a suitable viewing solution.
2. Objective eye test
To analyze your vision profile, our specialists perform an objective eye test. This is an automatic eye test that is done using an autorefractor. This eye test can be seen as a preparatory measurement, after which the results are refined by the specialist.
3. Determination of visual acuity
Visual acuity, also called visual acuity, is examined by measuring the eyes separately. This means that it is examined to what extent you can distinguish two points that are adjacent to each other.
4. Subjective eye measurement
By placing glasses of different strengths in front of your eyes, the specialist can accurately determine the strength. First this is done for each eye separately, then for both eyes simultaneously.
5. Check cooperation of the eyes
The measured strength is placed in fitting glasses, after which various binocular tests are performed. This means that the cooperation between both eyes is checked and assessed.
6. If necessary: Determine reading addition in fitting glasses
As people get older, they often have difficulty seeing clearly up close. In that case, the reading addition is determined using trial glasses. This means that an extra plus correction is determined that ensures that vision at close range is improved
7. Eye Health Check
During our eye tests we do a standard Eye Health Check. For this we use a special camera with which we take a detailed photo of your retina. This photo provides us with valuable information about the health of your eyes and allows us to detect any problems in a timely manner. *
