The young German brand Mykita was founded in 2003 by Moritz Krueger, Philipp Haffmans, Daniel Haffmans and Harald Gottschling. Mykita's first building was a former daycare center. The name Mykita is therefore derived from 'Kita', a commonly used abbreviation for 'daycare center' in German.
Inventive, independent, curious and continuously looking for technical improvements – that is Mykita. Looking beyond the traditional boundaries of the eyewear world, collections are characterized by bold designs, featuring sophisticated color combinations in carefully crafted stainless steel constructions.
Mykita's creative vision
The four gentlemen form the creative quartet of eyewear-making Berlin. While others were stuck in the past, they always managed to come up with new materials and applications without losing sight of their ideals. Innovation of high quality, in a fashionable and contemporary look, so that everyone wants to wear a Mykita frame.
Progressive technology
Mykita is known for its progressive technologies and innovative approach to eyewear design.
3D printed glasses and surgical steel
Mykita started by perfecting metal frames, made from surgical steel, and making the spring attachment virtually indestructible. This resulted in the iconic Mykita No. 1 line. Mykita was also one of the first brands to launch a 3D-printed collection of glasses: the Mylon collection. From the very beginning of stunning quality and with a design that you can only achieve with 3D printing.
Progressive designs and materials
As of 2014, Mykita is one of the most progressive glasses manufacturers in the world. The collaboration with Zeiss takes Mykita sunglasses to new heights. Sunglasses with polarizing or contrast-enhancing lenses enhance your view even more.
And “normal” plastic glasses are no longer “normal” plastic glasses. The acetate used for Mykita Acetate frames is made especially and exclusively for Mykita by Mazzuchelli in Northern Italy. With color combinations and design that are unprecedented in the eyewear world as we knew it.
